While I was riding the elevator I made some small talk with a volunteer in the elevator. I told her about Tuckers struggles with pain and I got a little sad. Tucker fell asleep so I stepped out to grab a quick lunch and when I returned she just happened to be the volunteer assigned to check in on us. When I returned Tucker was playing peek a boo and watching Dora.

At rounds today, it was decided that Tucker would be able to go to the step down unit as long as they felt confident that they could control his pain and high doses of medication. He has already received his max of some of his medications. Now we just have to watch his fluid output and watch him to make sure that his O2 stats stay between the 80's and 90's. Dr. Emani is still in Germany, hopefully returning late Sunday. He should be by first thing on Monday to check on us.
Warming Hearts Donations for the empty baskets that we have seen around the floor.
This makes me SO sad...Looks like Warming Hearts will start collecting books and leggings as well. :o)
Grammy Watson stopped by today and got to push me all around the CICU unit. What a fun time I had.
Lamby had a fun time driving as well. I am also wearing my Broccoli hat that my Auntie Linda made.
We had a very special guest this afternoon, Tucker's Pediatrician stopped by to see Tucker. He was in some discomfort and cried most of her visit though. He slept a little too. :o(
Grandfather stopped by, so did Nana. (Mommy's Parent's-Minus Nancy, she had to work.) Grandfather brought me a Dora Mermaid for my bath's. He also got a musical book that plays piano tunes. Tucker loves music. They received a few smiles but not too many though, still in quite a bit of pain.
So this afternoon I stopped by the patient resource room and talked with several of the therapists and Lauren from Child life. We talked about everything including sports and the upcoming Boston Marathon on Patriots Day. I met one amazing heart mom, who's tragic story of loss has blossomed into such a mission of love. Check out how this family is changing the world one day at a time to make the world a little happier. All you need is love. xo
Caroline received a donation of 4 Floor seats to tonight's Celtics game values at $175 a ticket. Deal of a lifetime. She asked me if I could find someone to use them. Dr Kolpa wanted them but she had dinner plans and had to leave before we received them. So away they went to one of my favorite people, the one who took a day off of work to sit in a hospital chair and calm me down. So grateful to her and her family for all they do for us and all of the kids in our heart group. Anna Mary, I hope that you and the kids enjoyed every minute, you all SO deserve it!
Fell asleep so cute today! Like a little old man.
Two of Mommy's uplifting friends, Pam and Lynne came by today to cheer us up. They got Tucker up and smiling and even wheeled him around on the floor in his little red car.
Katie and Jay stopped by too, They brought homemade chilli, salad, cornbread and chips that Finally got Tuckers attention...HE ATE 2 of them before bed tonight. SO exciting!
Tonight Spencer went to sleep over with his cousins, Anthony and Addison. He was SO excited, I called to see if they wanted him early, he just couldn't wait to have some boy time.
Dr. Porras stopped by to check on Tucker, he was sleeping and didn't want to wake him. He said that he would check on us Monday. :o(
