We had one one of our favorite Clintonian's for our night RN. Jen and mommy have some friends in common in town, she is a wonderful RN. She kept Tucker comfortable all night so Mommy could get some sleep. 5 Uninterrupted hours! It was wonderful!
Around 4am,Tucker pulled off one of his bulb syringes on his drains completely off his tubing when Jen found Tucker up in his bed. The Surgeon on call had to come and reattach it to his line. He was quite a handful and very scared as they used the overhead lights that scare Tucker to re-sanitize it. After quite a while he was able to reattach it with zip ties. What a scary time for our little boy.
After the drains were taken care of, we noticed that at the exact sight of the bulb syringe leak, Tucker had received a rash. Lauren, a site RN specialist, was called and asked to assess the would, the MD ordered Hydrocortisone however, it appears to be getting worse this evening.
Tucker has been watching SO much Dora he is almost fluent in Spanish. We are thinking of enrolling him in ESL classes when he enters Preschool. :0)
Back to not being able to manage his pain. He was a very cranky boy most of the day today,
Tuckers fluid in his lungs look a little better this evening. You can actually see the chest tubes and pacing wires that are in his chest.
Another view of his hardware in his chest.
7am EKG
10:30am, Took Tucker in his car to the Dog show in the entertainment center. It was a fun time and the dogs did tricks for treats and then gave out business cards with photos because we couldn't pat the animals.
Bernese Mountain Dog who dances with his handler.
Spencer came in to visit and Mommy had missed him so much! Donnie, Spencer, Isabella and I took a walk to Starbucks and got Cake pops for a treat.
CHYLE. the fluid that drains out of Tuckers tubes should look more red and not cloudy like below. When this happens, its called Chyle. Basically his numbers should be under 1oo, Tuckers is 167. They are going to see what happens overnight and leave it up to the surgeon in the morning for a course of action. Basically, this might keep us here for quite a bit.
We had quite a few visitors today.
Jen and Pam were nice enough to spoil Spencer for the entire day! Thank you ladies, I am sure that he will be talking about this months from now.
Spencer is very excited to play with other peoples toys.
Good night, its bee a long day today!
