After what seemed like an eternity. We were brought back to the Cardiac ICU to see Tucker and met our day RN Ashley. It was around 5:30pm.
The first thing I noticed was that Tucker had pink fingernails and toenails. I couldn't believe it, we had seen him blue for so long it was strange to see him look so pink! Although it doesn't photograph welli have attached photos below.

His oxygen saturations were 100% and he looked so good. Ashley was amazingly patient with us and she took about 20 mins to describe what all of the IV lines and drains in Tucker too. Way too many to list here. Then we went over all of the medications that he was on. She was wonderful and so kind.
6pm We were greeted by the Cardiology fellow named Tobias. He looked like he strolled right out of a Surfers Weekly magazine. He described what the "plan" was, he also shared with us that during the surgery Tucker had an "episode" where his blood pressure and oxygen levels were irregular. The anesthesia team was able to increase his sedation and the irregularity stabilized.

While we were visiting Tucker, during our conversation with Tobias, I saw Tucker move his feet a few times very sharply. Next thing we saw was Tucker open his eyes and then he tried to get up. Tobias rushed to his side and held his arms down until his morphine kicked in. They couldn't believe how strong our little miracle is. Sadly, this got our child arm restraints because he simply can not be trusted without them.
6:30pm After Tuckers "episode" a reverend stopped by and blessed Tucker for us. It was such a special moment, she had such a beautiful calmness about her, it was SO affirming.
7pm While our day RN gave report to our night RN, Gary and I went out to the waiting area and grabbed dinner that our wonderful friend Marianne made for us and dropped off this morning! It was great to have a home cooked meal and not the cafeteria food. ;o)
8:45pm Gary returned to the sleep space room to try and get a little sleep for a while. I am sleeping at his bed tonight. Going to try and get a few minutes of rest before I'm up again for the removal of the ventalator and his breathing tube.
9:15pm Dr Emani came by to check on Tucker. All of his numbers look good however, he was going to leave it up to the overnight CICU team to determine if we should loose the breathing tube overnight tonight or wait until the morning.
9:50pm The Anesthesia team stopped by to see if we needed anything else tonight.
I am exhausted and conveniently located under the helipad, which has been overly busy today, so I am going to try and get a little rest before they discuss extubation.
Thank you for all of your continued prayers... They are working!
